Glen Abbey Branch is Expanding to the Outdoors

digital renderings showing the current Glen Abbey outdoor space and potential future renovation

This summer, Glen Abbey Branch will undergo a renovation to create a fresh new outdoor space for customers to enjoy. Renovations will not disrupt

Glen Abbey Branch’s current operations.

The expansion to the outdoors at OPL’s busiest branch will provide customers with a safe, welcoming, and accessible space for structured library programs as well as leisurely activities. The outdoor space is approximately 1,900 sq. ft.

The space will exist as a natural extension of the interiors, with a proposal of the following additions:

  • Extend the library to the outside creating a patio area for the public
  • Designed with flexibility to accommodate activities such as:
    • Book clubs
    • Children playing
    • Reading and socializing
    • Programs and events
    • Evening socials
  • Landscaping and privacy features
  • Shade structure

OPL is working with Red Studio Architects to design this space.

There will be no planned disruptions to current branch operations.
