About Us

The Friends of the Oakville Public Library is a volunteer advocacy group dedicated to increasing awareness of the library’s programs and services and the enhancement of those services through a variety of community events and fund-raising activities.

Since its inception in 1993, the Friends have contributed over $340,000 to the Oakville Public Library.

Show Your Support – $10.00 Annual Membership
Small amounts can make a big difference! Your $10.00 Annual Membership is an important part of the Friends’ fund-raising. The benefits to you go beyond the personal satisfaction of knowing you have helped the Friends and the library, including:

  • Invitations to Friends of the Oakville Public Library special events including Members Preview Night at spring and fall Book Sales and an invitation to the Annual General Meeting
  • Friends’ FOLIO Newsletter
  • Opportunities to get involved in Friends activities, to serve on committees, or the Board of Directors

Donations
The Friends are no longer involved with accepting donations on behalf of the library. Donations are welcome but should be sent directly to the Oakville Public Library. For more information, please contact the Development Office at 905-815-2028.
